A self-initiated study of glass, metal, and resin materials, testing refraction and reflections in Blender. Eight stills and two videos.

Transparent objects, metals and soft plastics — I explore how the behavior of light defines a material through different subjects.

In the glass vessels, I look at light gathering at the bottom after passing through liquid (caustics), and how the image changes at the rim. In the series of discs and poles, I compare how the same structure looks in opaque primary colors and translucent purple.

Some pieces use primary colors; others are nearly monochrome. In the former, color itself is the subject. In the latter, form and shading carry the image.

I started because I wanted to combine Blender with graphic design and Three.js. I worked through a paid course from overseas. These pieces were made between January and February 2026; I did not record the order in which I made them.
